The Crocodile is very slow but very strong with high levels of endurance towards being attacked. You unlock the crocodile by purchasing DLC.

The Crocodile is considered an aquatic predator. The crocodiles streamlined body enables it to swim swiftly, it also tucks its feet to the side while swimming, which makes it faster by decreasing water resistance. They have webbed feet, though not used to propel the animal through the water, allows them to make fast turns and sudden moves in the water or initiate swimming. A crocodiles jaws are powerful, and do not let go of whatever they grab a hold of without a struggle or the crocodile letting go on purpose. Ironically, a crocodile can't open its jaws if only a minor amount of pressure is applied to them, such as one hand being pushed on the nose and the other on the chin.

Life as a Crocodile

The Crocodile is a DLC Pack #2 size 5 predator available for purchase. Crocodile have the second highest base Attack of any predator and the highest base Defense, but they also have the lowest Stamina and among the lowest for Hunger. Crocodiles actually move at a low average speed, but their cumbersome movement and poor stamina make them feel very heavy and slow. Their shape can also prove to be a problem, as the player will sometimes find themselves unable to eat a kill that is too close to the edge of the screen, even if the prompt to eat appears. While their attacks are quick enough, they're far better for open combat than chasing down fleeing prey. Their high Defense also makes them far more suited for head-on assaults. The Crocodiles poor skill at sneaking up on prey and rapidly decreasing Hunger can make it a challenging animal to use for those unfamiliar with size 5 animal restrictions, so items like the Bunny Beanie can help a lot in early development.

Crocodiles as Prey

While Crocodiles are not wide spread in the early years, they are one of the first size 5 predators likely to be encountered in the game. They are usually found near bodies of water, most commonly in the Yamanote Line and the Sewer, but Crocodiles have been known to become the bane of novice players by showing up in the narrow northern passages of Dogenzaka and at the Shibuya Woods nest early on, where it can be extremely difficult to move around them without getting hit. Crocodiles are among the most hardy of predators, and breaking their defences in open combat can prove difficult for all but the strongest animals. They are, however, quite slow to give chase and are very restricted in their movement so can be easily outrun. Crocodiles can also become quickly exhausted after attacking for a short period of time.

Unlike other animals, losing sight of a prey that is chasing, instead of trying to sniff the enemy, it will directly abandon the persecution, even if it is an advantage to escape from the predator, it is not advisable to have your allies away from you if you You find yourself hidden in the tall grass and the Crocodile is nearby, because if your allies are close to the Crocodile while they go to you to hide with you, when the predator leave the hostile mode directly, the Crocodile will notice and attack your allies.
